WIL ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2010

A significant feature of the forum, the WIL Achievement Awards will recognise prominent women who have broken new ground in their respective areas of expertise and reward their outstanding performances and achievements. A luxurious reception will follow the awards ceremony.

Description of the categories:

Most Women-Friendly Employer
This award will honour the organisation that is actively encouraging their women executives to develop in their careers within the organisation. This could be done by encouraging them to engage in training programs and other initiatives that will enhance their leadership and professional skills, offering growth opportunities, as well as introducing or associating with programs for women internship and employment. Organisations are requested to clearly list activities they have been involved with in the respect.

Woman Initiative of the Year
These initiatives should be launched by the public or private sectors in benefit of the female community and to encourage women to learn and engage in development activities. This nomination is open to private companies, associations, social groups, NGOs, as well as government-led or public groups, the nominees are requested to define their mission and objective as well as cite activities they have performed or are going to perform.

Woman Leader in Public Sector
This award will recognise a woman leader for her initiatives in the public sector for her outstanding performance in the respective area of work and in developing other women in the community. This nomination is open to prominent women in ministries, development fund groups and government authorities from all across the Middle East.

Business Woman of the Year
This category will honour the leading woman business owner in private sector or family business. The nominee should cite her initiatives and accomplishments that reflect her leadership skills, decision making ability, creativity and strategy which has been instrumental in the successful turnaround of the company to a growth story. Nominations for this category are open to business woman decision makers from all industry sectors.

Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
The leading woman entrepreneur award is designed to recognise the country’s leading female entrepreneur to have established a successful entity with strong business fundamentals. The nominees will be judged on basis of their true passion for what they do, their business goals and strategies to achieve these goals, their impact on the overall industry and the country and the uniqueness of their business plan. Nominations to this category are open to business owners of private companies or family businesses – those companies who have been around for more than 12 months.

Woman CEO of the Year
This category will reward a leading woman CEO of a prominent company from any industry sector. The nominees will be judged on the basis of their achievements, their active engagements in the last 12-18 months, career path, leadership and decision making ability, strategic management skills, corporate philanthropy and other inspirational stories that may have led to the company’s growth. Please include examples, testimonials, articles and references to support your entry.

Woman CFO of the Year
This category will reward a leading woman CFO of a prominent company from any industry sector. The nominees will be judged on the basis of their financial capabilities, innovative initiatives to maximise returns, influence on management’s decision making and success stories. Please include examples, testimonials, articles and references to support your entry.

Woman COO of the Year
This category will reward a leading woman COO of a prominent company from any industry sector. The nominees will be judged on the basis of her operational capacity and qualifications to execute innovative roles that have benefited the company. Please include examples, testimonials, articles and references to support your entry.

If you believe that you or your company qualifies to be nominated for an award category, please contact us for an entry form.

All nominations are treated with confidence and are only seen by the judging panel. The jury will screen all entries and supporting materials. All nominees will receive notification of the success of their entry onto the shortlist. Winners will be notified one week before the event to organise attendance and press interviews.
